How it works
- The average times shown are rough estimates based on the age- and sex-specific statistics from the Japan Sports Agency's 'Survey on Physical Fitness and Athletic Performance (New Physical Fitness Test).' For the latest and accurate figures, please refer to the official Japan Sports Agency statistics.
- The distances follow the common implementation categories of the New Physical Fitness Test, using 1500m for boys and 1000m for girls.
- Ages 12–19 are measured with the 'endurance run' and ages 20 and over with 'brisk walking,' and this tool switches the event and representative value according to that classification.
- In the New Physical Fitness Test the endurance run is an optional event, and many schools use the 20m shuttle run instead, so endurance run data is not available for every age.
- When there is no representative value for a given age, the value for the nearest age is shown as a guide (e.g., age 21 → the value for age 20).
- The times shown are only rough estimates. Actual records vary with body build, course conditions, physical condition, and more. If you have any concerns about your health or exercise, please consult a doctor or specialist.
