How it works
- Enter your numbers separated by line breaks, commas, or spaces, and the tool calculates the sum (total), mean, maximum, minimum, range, and count all at once. You can paste a column straight from a spreadsheet.
- The mean is the arithmetic average: the sum of all values divided by the count. The range is calculated as maximum minus minimum and indicates how spread out the data is.
- Characters that cannot be read as numbers (unit labels, headers, and so on) are ignored automatically, so only valid numbers are included. Negative values and decimals are supported.
- Use the value to highlight toggle to choose whether the sum or the mean is shown large, while the remaining values appear in the summary cards and the table.
- This tool computes descriptive statistics of the data itself (sum, mean, and so on); it does not calculate sample variance, unbiased variance (dividing by n−1), or standard deviation used to estimate a population. If you need a measure of dispersion, use a variance or standard deviation calculator.
- Results with decimals are rounded to four decimal places for readability, so values with many digits may be shown as approximations.
