Soccer Calorie Calculator
Estimate the calories you burn playing soccer from your weight, play time, and play style using the METs formula. See how many bowls of rice and grams of fat it equals at a glance.
Input
Estimate the calories burned playing soccer using a simple METs-based formula. The result is an approximation and varies with body size and how intensely you play.

How it works
- Calories burned playing soccer are estimated with the common simplified formula "METs × weight (kg) × time (hours) × 1.05". Duration is entered in minutes and converted to hours internally.
- METs (metabolic equivalents) is an index of exercise intensity relative to a resting value of 1. The higher the METs, the more calories you burn in the same amount of time.
- The intensity-based METs used here are about 7.0 for casual and 10.0 for competitive play. These are approximations based on representative values such as the Compendium of Physical Activities (revised) from Japan's National Institute of Health and Nutrition.
- This formula gives a total energy estimate that also includes resting metabolism. To find net expenditure with the resting portion removed, some approaches use (METs − 1).
- For reference, results are converted using 1 bowl of rice ≈ 234 kcal and 1 g of body fat ≈ 7.2 kcal to show "how many bowls of rice" and "how many grams of fat" the calories equal. These are rough conversions only.
- Actual calories burned vary with body size, fitness, how hard you move, environment, and other factors, so there are individual differences. Use the displayed values as a rough guide.
