How it works

  • Enter a date and time in Japan (Tokyo) to see the local time in 15 cities worldwide at a glance. Handy for coordinating overseas meetings and international calls.
  • Each city is calculated using standard time (UTC offset). Daylight saving time, when clocks move forward in summer, is not applied, so a one-hour gap may occur while DST is in effect.
  • When the local date differs from Japan's, the city is labeled "Next day" or "Previous day" so you can plan schedules that cross the date line.
  • Cities with a 30-minute offset, such as Delhi and the United Arab Emirates, are also supported.
  • The time difference is measured relative to Japan: a plus value means the region is ahead of Japan, while a minus value means it is behind.

Frequently asked questions

What is Japan Standard Time (JST)?
JST is the single time zone used across Japan, fixed at UTC+9. It is nine hours ahead of Coordinated Universal Time and does not change during the year.
Does Japan observe daylight saving time?
No. Japan does not use daylight saving time, so the offset stays at UTC+9 all year. When comparing with a country that shifts for DST, the gap to Japan changes by an hour in that country's summer.
How do I use this to schedule a call with someone in Japan?
Read the current Japan time shown here against your own city's clock to see the exact hour difference, then pick a slot that lands in working hours on both sides.
