How it works

  • Cost is calculated as power (W) ÷ 1000 × hours (h) × electricity rate per kWh. CO2 is the same energy (kWh) multiplied by the CO2 emission factor (kg-CO2/kWh).
  • Electricity rates and CO2 factors vary widely by country, region, and contract. The defaults are rough placeholders, so enter the unit price from your own utility bill for a more accurate estimate.
  • The CO2 emission factor depends on your country's and provider's power mix. Replace the default with your supplier's factor if you know it.
  • Enter the heating-mode power draw (W) from the unit's spec sheet or catalog. Inverter models vary a lot with outdoor temperature and target setting, so results are only estimates.
  • Displayed amounts and emissions are rounded, so period totals may not add up exactly. These figures do not guarantee your actual bill or emissions.

Frequently asked questions

How are the heating cost and CO2 calculated?
Cost uses power (W) ÷ 1000 × hours × unit price (yen/kWh), and CO2 multiplies the same energy (kWh) by a CO2 emission factor (kg-CO2/kWh). Results are shown per hour, per day, and per month.
What CO2 emission factor is used, and can I change it?
The default is 0.45 kg-CO2/kWh, a representative utility-average value (roughly the 0.43–0.47 range). If you know your provider's factor, you can enter it in the input field.
Why don't the rounded amounts add up exactly across periods?
Amounts and emissions are rounded for display, so the hourly, daily, and monthly totals may not match to the last digit. Inverter units also vary a lot with outdoor temperature and setpoint, so the result is only an estimate.
