How it works
- Total bill = base charge + usage (kWh) × energy unit price + usage (kWh) × renewable-energy levy per kWh. This is the most common simple estimate.
- The energy unit price is the per-kWh charge for consumption. Real tariffs often use tiered (stepped) rates that change with usage, so enter the rate that applies to you. This tool estimates with a single rate.
- The renewable-energy levy is a per-kWh surcharge that is revised periodically. Enter 0 if you do not want to include it.
- The effective unit price is total ÷ usage — the per-kWh amount you actually pay including the base charge.
- The total is rounded down to the nearest unit for display. Fuel-cost adjustments, discounts, and tax handling vary by provider and plan and are not included here.
- Results are approximate estimates. Check your provider's tariff sheet and meter reading for the exact billed amount.
