How it works

  • CPC (cost per click) is found with "ad spend ÷ clicks" and shows the average cost paid each time your ad is clicked.
  • A lower CPC means you are gathering more clicks for less money, making it a basic measure of an ad's cost efficiency.
  • Enter an ad budget to estimate roughly how many clicks you could expect at the current CPC — handy for pre-launch simulations.
  • Real-world CPC varies with keyword competition, bid amounts, ad quality, and placement, so treat these results as a guideline only.
  • Enter 1 or more for clicks and 0 or more for ad spend. The result is not shown unless these conditions are met.

Frequently asked questions

How is CPC calculated?
CPC (cost per click) is ad spend ÷ clicks and shows the average cost of each click. For example, $1,000 of ad spend and 500 clicks gives a CPC of $2.
What is the difference between CPC and CPA?
CPC is the cost of one click, while CPA is the cost of one result (ad spend ÷ conversions). Since it usually takes several clicks to get one conversion, CPA is higher than CPC.
How many clicks can my budget buy?
Roughly budget ÷ CPC. Enter an ad budget and the tool estimates how many clicks you could expect at your current CPC.
