How it works
- CTR (click-through rate) is calculated as "clicks ÷ impressions × 100" and shows, as a percentage, how many of the times your content was shown actually got clicked.
- A higher number suggests your headline, banner, or copy resonates with the people who see it. It applies broadly to ads, emails, search results, social posts, and more.
- For impressions, enter the number of times your content was actually shown. This can differ from delivery or send counts, so match the figures from your measurement tool.
- Clicks per 1,000 impressions are shown at the same time, making it easy to compare response rates across campaigns with very different impression volumes.
- Clicks normally cannot exceed impressions, so that case returns an error. Check that both figures cover the same period and audience.
- A "good" CTR varies widely by channel and niche. Don't judge performance on a single number; compare against your own past results or campaigns run under the same conditions.
Frequently asked questions
- What is a good CTR?
- There is no single benchmark; a good CTR varies widely by channel and niche. Rather than judging on one number, compare against your own past results or campaigns run under the same conditions.
- What is the difference between CTR and CVR?
- CTR (clicks ÷ impressions × 100) measures how many viewers clicked, while CVR measures how many of those visits or clicks converted. CTR gauges the hook; CVR gauges the result.
- What counts as an impression?
- Enter the number of times your content was actually shown. This can differ from send or delivery counts, so match the figure your measurement tool reports as impressions.
