Wind Chill (Feels-Like Temperature) Calculator

Estimate the apparent temperature from air temperature, wind speed, and humidity. Using Missenard's formula, see how much colder it feels as the wind picks up.

Input

Enter the air temperature, wind speed, and humidity to estimate the apparent (feels-like) temperature using Missenard's formula. The stronger the wind, the colder it feels compared with the actual temperature.

How it works

  • Enter the air temperature, wind speed, and humidity to estimate the feels-like temperature. Stronger wind carries heat away, so you can see numerically how it feels colder than the actual temperature.
  • The calculation uses Missenard's formula. From air temperature T, wind speed v, and relative humidity H, it computes Tfeel = 37 − (37−T) / (0.68 − 0.0014×H + 1/(1.76 + 1.4×v^0.75)) − 0.29×T×(1−H/100).
  • Enter wind speed in m/s (meters per second), the same unit as the "wind speed in meters" figure in weather forecasts.
  • Humidity is the relative humidity (%). Lower humidity tends to make the calculated feels-like temperature slightly lower.
  • The displayed feels-like temperature and the cold/hot levels are rough estimates only. How it actually feels varies with body type, clothing, sunlight, wetness, and other factors.
  • For health-related decisions about heatstroke, frostbite, and the like, do not rely on these figures alone—consult official sources such as the meteorological agency or a professional.
